About the Artist

Hello. Welcome. My name is Timm Bechter. I have been painting since my early teen years. My first logo project was painting the brand new logos of the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers onto poster boards to hang in my bedroom. Both of those logos were bold and artistic, and, obviously, well thought through professional designs. Looking back, now that I have had years to reflect, I believe those logos were what hooked me on logo art for life. Not long after that I painted the Swan Song logo from Led Zeppelin’s record label onto a 4’ tall section of wall in that same bedroom. My mother was impressed enough with my work that she “commissioned” me to paint a photo of her favorite calico cat onto her laundry room wall. In high school I took as many art classes as possible to learn about different materials and techniques. Still life, pointillism, pen, pencil and charcoal drawing and shading, watercolors, oils and acrylics – many of these projects still hang in my mother’s home and in my own.
Over the long hiatus from creating art that was my work-life – first in the navy, then in the concrete materials business, then on Wall Street as an equity analyst, and finally as a high school math teacher and coach – I developed more refined affinities for music, sports and food. My college years as a radio DJ expanded my knowledge of modern music – new wave, synth-pop, alternative rock and punk – beyond my early years growing up on classic rock. My love of sports was affirmed with my beloved KC Royals winning the World Series in 1985 and more recently in 2015, and then by the KC Chiefs winning three Super Bowls in five years. And it should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with barbeque at its finest that having grown up in the Kansas City area I would be a BBQ aficionado. I love food of many kinds: burgers, pizza, fried chicken, steak, and seafood. Ethnic cuisine stalwarts from German to Mexican to Italian, and many others that may not get as much fanfare, are all alluring. I enjoy grouping logos into a thematic montage with a logical arrangement, whether it be market size, historical timeline, geography or something else.
If you have a passion for something that could be expressed through a logo montage and would love to hang it on a wall to show those who know you, let me know with an e-mail through my contact form. My commission structure is based on the size of the painting and the number of logos in it.
